Davis, Eleazer, Bedford. 2d Lieutenant, Capt. John Moore's (Bedford) co., which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775; service, 9 days; also, return dated Bedford, May 15, 1775, made to Col. Green, of men between the ages of sixteen and sixty liable to bear arms; reported a commissioned officer; also, 1st Lieutenant, Capt. John Moore's 7th (Bedford) co., Col. Simeon Spaulding's (7th Middlesex Co.) regt.; list of officers of Mass. militia; ordered in Council May 31, 1776, that commissions be issued; reported commissioned May 31, 1776; also, 1st Lieutenant, Capt. Edward Farmer's (7th) co.; return dated Groton, Dec. 5, 1776, made by Brig. Oliver Prescot, of officers and men drafted from militia of Middlesex Co. into a regiment to be commanded by Col. Samuel Thatcher; company drafted from 6th and 7th Middlesex Co. regts. and made up of men from Billerica, Tewksbury, Bedford, Littleton, and Shirley; regiment ordered to march to Fairfield, Conn., on or before Dec. 16, 1776.
